"I'll come visit you, Mama."

Sophia starts school again tomorrow. Three weeks ago, I could'nt wait for the kids to start school. That was because Chris had a pretty long stretch of having to be out of town for work, my mother was out of town visiting her parents for 2 months and it has been (no lie) 110 degrees outside since mid July!! I WAS READY TO HAVE A BREAK FROM MY KIDS! But...now I am sad.

My little girl starts 1st grade!!!!

WAIT! STOP! Don't go to the first grade!!

I just meant I needed a two day vacation! I didn't mean for you to grow up and know Math, the Jonas Brothers and to tell me that I don't have to bring you into school on your first day!!

Tonight when I was giving them a bath, I told them I had no more babies in my house, and that they were growing up too fast. I then said "And first comes the 1st grade and then comes getting married and moving out!" I was hoping for a "No mama, we will never leave you!" or "Mama we want to live with you forever!" Instead Sophia said "But, I will come visit you sometimes." Sometimes?? Sometimes!! Stella looked at me and realized that I was hurt by Sophia's comment so she said "Well, Mom, I don't want to move out. I want to stay here with you and my books and Fritz." (that is our dog) Well, Christopher will be glad to know that the dog and Dr. Seuss come before him!

I sometimes will browse through the baby pictures and tears will stream down my face...I can't believe this week 7 years ago I found out I was pregnant with my Sophia. And here we are in the same week going to the first grade. I am so grateful to have such a blessed life with these two lively girls and a cute guy and a dog that at least one of my kids want to live with forever...

Cheers to a new school year!
